A Rough Year to Say the Least

Since my last post, things in life have changed a lot. My past year has been full of graduating, trying to find a full-time job, substituting, ASP, graduate school, and trying my best to keep a serious relationship going.
Just to fill everyone in, I have decided to make a long blog with shortened event happenings:

  • I graduated from KSU on December 13, 2011 with my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education!

After graduation, I worked everyday applying for jobs in Cherokee and Cobb Counties in Georgia, but had no luck. I decided that while I was waiting I would begin substituting. In addition to that, God graciously provided me with my old job at Chalker Elementary, working with ASP. Through that job I gained the opportunity to substitute more, and for that I will be forever thankful! I will say that I went through a time where I felt like I wasn't good enough to be chosen for a job, I am now (9 months later) still dealing with the fact that I have no job, but now, I know I'm good enough. I am just waiting of God to place me where He needs me, and right now that is at Chalker substituting and helping direct ASP. And through it all, I'm still able to do what I love!

  • Then there was Christmas with all of it's wonderful festivities. We spent another Christmas without Daddy this year since he had recently been stationed in Juneau, Alaska.

  • For New Years Eve, David took me to The Cheesecake Factory, and even though it was busy and we waited for a long time, we enjoyed our meals and were able to celebrate the coming of the new year together!

  • Shortly after beginning 2012, Shad, our youth minister at Noonday told us he was moving to Florida to minister at a new church. I cannot explain to you the surge of emotions that flooded Noonday when this was announced. Shad was and still is such a major part of our lives, and it saddened all of us to see him leave. In honor of what a great and Godly man he was and for what he contributed to our lives we held a bash night for the college leaders! WE LOVE YOU SHAD!
  • February rolled around, which of course, means Valentines Day! To celebrate our 2nd Valentines Day together, David took me to a little restaurant in Downtown Woodstock, The Thomas Magnolia House. We had quite the Valentines Day experience, and even though it was different from what we were used to, we loved every minute of it, and enjoyed all the time we were able to spend together!

  •  After Valentines Day, we all celebrated Easter by going out to lunch and having an Easter Egg Hunt at Bible Study! :) I do have to admit that no matter how old I get, Easter Egg Hunts are still loads of fun!

  • Even though David's birthday (April 4th) was before Easter (when we went to a Hawks game), I wasn't able to celebrate it with him and give him his present until about a week afterwards because of class and work. The birthday month consisted of:

The Hawks winning!  (4-4-12)

Ziplining in Blue Ridge, GA (4-14-12)

Taking a long walk/tour of Downtown Blueridge

And....hiking to a waterfall in Blue Ridge!
HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY DAVID!!! :)

  • In June, we had our annual Jackson Family Reunion in Natchez! It was quite the success this year! Mom and I were the only ones who made it from our side of town, but it was still worth the drive!

  • The rest of the summer was kind of a blur. In May, I enrolled in Graduate school (since I still had not found a full time job), which started in June. Many events happened with the youth group at church, including God bringing us a new youth pastor. David and I officially resigned as youth leaders at the end of July, but still keep in contact with the youth. We took part in doing the skits for VBS this year, visited Shad at his new home in Fernandina Beach, Florida, took a mini-vacation to visit my grandparents in Alabama, celebrated Sean's 20th birthday and my 23rd birthday, and much much more! Just to shortly recap, I have posted some pictures from this summer!
